Harry Edmund Hourigan


Harry Edmund Hourigan was the son of William Randolph & Agnes Emma (Shaver) Hourigan. He was born on November 21, 1911 in California, USA.

As of April 15, 1930 (age 19), he worked as a Carpenter helper to his father, building houses, per the 1930 U.S. Census.

Sometime around 1937, he married Ruth Elizabeth Bergbauer, daughter of Fred J. & Margaret M. (Nielson) Bergbauer.

In 1937, the South Orange County Directory lists him as an architect & designer living at 105 E Bay Front in Balboa, Orange County, California. In 1938, it indicates he was employed by Owen Roofing Co Inc and living at "1312 Bush, Santa Ana". In 1939, it shows him as a carpenter, living at "108 Lyon, Santa Ana."

On the 1940 & 1942 California Voter Registration Lists. His address was listed as 1428 Cypress, Santa Ana, Orange County. He, and his wife, Ruth, were registered as Republicans. His occupation was listed as a "roofer" both years.

On the 1946 & 1948 California Voter Registration Lists, he and Ruth relocated to 128 36th Street in Newport Beach, Orange County, California; where he was registered as a Republican. His parents and sister "Miss Wini" were listed as living at that address also (having a PO Box 334) on the same registration list. All information was the same on the 1952 California Voter Registration Lists, except that Ruth's name was not present (unknown reason).

As of the 1958 to 1964 California Voter Registration Lists, he and Ruth lived at 414 El Modena Avenue in Newport Beach. They were registered as republicans.

Harry passed away on February 2, 1983 in Newport Beach.
