William A. Hourigan


William A. Hourigan was the youngest known son of William Randolph & Agnes Emma (Shaver) Hourigan. He was born in 1926 in New Jersey, USA.

After living in Belleville, Essex County, New Jersey until 1936, he resided in Newport Beach, Orange County, California.

On February 1943, he enlisted in the U.S. Naval Reserve, where he received the rank of Seaman, Second Class (S2).

He was killed in action in the invasion of the Philippines about November 5, 1944. For his efforts in battle, he was awarded the Purple Heart (posthumously).

His name is listed on the Tablets of the Missing at Manila American Cemetery and Memorial located in Manila City, Philippines.
