Melvin Eugene Shaver
Melvin Eugene Shaver was the son of Clinton Deland & Jessie G. (Van Orman) Shaver. He was born on October 20, 1923 in Charlotte, Eaton County, Michigan, USA.
On August 2, 1944, Melvin enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served as a military intelligence officer (S2) in WWII.
Melvin married Marjorie Marie Gregg. Together, they lived in Ocklawaha, Marion County, Florida (1990) and then in Lake Panasoffkee, Sumter County, Florida by 1993.
Melvin was a retired home builder, director of the Lake Panasoffkee Water Association, a former president of the Lake Panasoffkee Library Association, life member of Kalamo Masonic Temple and a member of the American Legion, Charlotte.
Clinton passed away on August 23, 1998, at the age of 74, in Lake Panasoffkee. He was cremated and then buried on September 4, 1998 at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Sumter County, Florida.
