Jessie May (Shaver) Rogers/Keith
Jessie May Shaver was the daughter of Arthur Adelbert & Ida May (Kellogg) Shaver. She was born on December 3, 1895 in Carmel, Eaton County, Michigan, USA.
On June 1, 1900 (per the U.S. Census for that year), she was 4 and living with her parents and uncle Orville in Chester, Eaton County.
Per the 1910 U.S. Census (dated April 19, 1910), Jessie was 14. She lived with her parents and older sister in Charlotte (Ward 3), Eaton County.
On January 28, 1919 in Jackson, Jackson County, Michigan, she married Asa Bert Rogers, son of Asa B. & Henrietta (Davis) Rogers. They divorced sometime prior to June 6, 1925.
On June 6, 1925, Jessie (age 29) married Floyd Evert Keith, son of Curtis M. & Ida Mae (McDonald) Keith in Bellevue, Eaton County.
Per the 1930 U.S. Census ( dated April 8, 1930), she and Floyd were living at 307 Prairie Street in Charlotte, Eaton County.
A possible daughter "Pauline Rogers" age 7 and born in Michigan is listed on the 1930 Census record with Jessie; however, on her Asa's census record for 1930, a daughter "Pauline Stricker" age 13 born in Indiana is listed with him. This leads to some unresolved confusion concerning who Pauline might have been.
Per the 1940 U.S. Census (dated April 10, 1940), she and Floyd were still living at 307 Prairie Street in Charlotte, Eaton County. Her father, Arthur, was listed on the record with them; however, there was no mention of a Pauline with them OR with Asa.
Jessie died on January 24, 1971 in Battle Creek, Calhoun County, Michigan at the age of 75.
