Lorna June (Ruddock) Shaver

Lorna June Ruddock was born on June 17, 1925 in Convis Township, Calhoun County, Michigan, USA. She was the daughter of Forrest Eugene & Carrie (Coats) Ruddock.
She legally changed her first name to "June" sometime after turning 18.
On January 19, 1942, she married Merlin Maynard "Mutt" Shaver. He was the son of Orville Clayton & Bessie Eva (Perry) Shaver.
She enjoyed traveling with her husband to various parts of the world. One of her favorite trips was to County Cork in Ireland, where the Ruddock family once lived. Her ancestor, Captain Andrew Ruddock, was granted Wallstown Castle located in Castletownroche, County Cork by Oliver Cromwell around 1650.
She also enjoyed cooking and baking. She was a big fan of Elmo (from the show Sesame Street) and owned more than 20 Elmo plush & plastic toys (such as Tickle Me Elmo).
She was a homemaker who loved spending time with family. Every Christmas Eve, she hosted a huge gathering for all generations of the family. She kept a massive collection of photographs (at least one for every individual family member) on the wall of her family room in order of date of birth.
June, passed away on Monday, June 29, 2009 (age 84) at Marshall Nursing and Rehabilitation Community in Marshall, Calhoun County, Michigan. A memorial service for her took place on Wednesday, July 1, 2009 at the Craig K. Kempf Funeral Home (in Marshall) with Rev. Richard Schlee officiating. Her ashes were given to family/friends.
