Emma Rowena (Northrop) McElhenie/Shaver
Emma Rowena Northrop was the daughter of Milan Burr & Ellen Rowena (Baggerly) Northrop. She was born on November 12, 1902 in Bellevue, Eaton County, Michigan, USA.
As of the 1910 U.S. Census, she was living with her parents in Reading, Hillsdale County, Michigan. As of the 1920 U.S. Census, she was 17 years old and living with her parents in Hillsdale County, Michigan.
Her first marriage was to Carl H. McElhenie, son of Ehbriam D. & Arletta (Bloomer) McElhenie. He was married at least three times prior to their marriage: to Ruth Z. Carpenter (in 1911), Edna Morlan (in 1914), and Flossie Adams (in 1919).
They were married before 1930, when their names appeared together on the 1930 U.S. Census records. He passed away on August 29, 1945.
Sometime after Carl's death, she remarried Kenneth Levi Shaver. Kenneth was the son of Orville Clayton & Bessie Eva (Perry) Shaver
Kenneth followed her in death in 1994. They are buried next to each other at Lyon Lake Cemetery in Fredonia Township, Calhoun County.
