Hal G. "Bud" Boughton


Hal G. "Bud" Boughton was born on November 22, 1916 in Roxland Township, Eaton County, Michigan, USA. He was the son of Lewis Legrand & Blanche May (Woodworth) Boughton.

On August 7, 1941, he enlisted in the U.S. Army National Guard (Field Artillery unit) during the World War II draft. At the time, he lived in Charlotte, Eaton County. He served as a tank driver in Europe.

Sometime after the war, he returned to Charlotte. His uncle, Ray Gerald Boughton, was married to Myrtle Inez Shaver, daughter of Bertrand Cassius & Ada Lovista (Blodgett) Shaver. He married Myrtle's cousin, Doris Clara Shaver, who was the daughter of Clifford Joseph & Luella M. (Randall) Shaver.

As of the 1951 East Detroit City Directory, Hal & Doris were residents of 15832 Frazho Road in Roseville, Macomb County, Michigan. Hal was employed in Detroit at the Budd Company (now ThyssenKrupp Budd), as a boiler operator until his retirement.

Bud died on Tuesday, January 20, 2004 (age 87) in Warren, Midland County, Michigan. Funeral service was held on January 23, 2004 at Kaul Funeral Home in Roseville, Macomb County.
